BlazBlue Calamity Trigger is an anime-style fighting game set in Kagutsuchi, a hierarchical city where the Librarium regulates Armagus, a power that combines magic and technology. The story follows the wanted criminal Ragna the Bloodedge, who seeks to destroy the Librarium. Many are pursuing him for both his powerful Azure Grimoire and the bounty on his head.
The roster features more than ten combatants with distinct fighting styles. Each character has a unique Drive attack, which can control elements or drain an opponent’s life force. Fighters can also use defensive barriers, counterattacks and other techniques to turn the tide of battle. The game includes online fights, as well as Arcade, versus, Practice and character-focused Story modes.
