Xenon 2: Megablast is a vertically scrolling shoot ’em up about a starship pilot tasked with destroying five bombs planted by the Xenites across different periods of history. Set a millennium after Xenon, its levels range from the Cambrian era to futuristic metallic spaceways.
The ship can move in several directions and fire a blaster, while its shield provides temporary protection from attacks and collisions. Each level features creatures mutated by radiation and a boss that requires a specific strategy to defeat. Destroying a boss defuses the bomb in that level; after losing a life, the ship respawns at the most recent restart point.
