Mega Man 3 is a platformer in which the robot Mega Man sets out to stop malfunctioning Robot Masters and gather energy for a peacekeeping robot called Gamma. Dr. Light is working with Dr. Wily, who claims to have abandoned his plans for world domination, but Mega Man’s mission brings him into conflict with Wily’s schemes once more.
Stages can be tackled in any order, and defeating each of the eight new Robot Masters grants a special weapon that can be selected during later stages. Mega Man can slide along the ground to avoid attacks and move faster, while his robotic dog Rush assists him and gains new abilities. The campaign also features Robot Masters reconstructed from the previous game.
