This anime-styled sports game combines beach activities with volleyball and other competitions. Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 includes beach volleyball and butt battle mini-games, a race to retrieve a flag, and rock climbing. The action is viewed from a third-person perspective, with a camera mode carried over from earlier entries in the series.
Girl Mode lets the player directly control a selected heroine, while Owner Mode casts the player as the owner of another island. Activities with the girls include dating. Costumes unlocked for one heroine become available to the others, and the game also features a tanning system.
