A fast-paced 2D side-scrolling action game in the old-school style, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 returns to the world of the first installment. Alongside Gunvolt, his rival Copen from the original game is playable. Both characters can use Prevasion to neutralize enemy attacks at the cost of EP energy.
Kudos points increase as the player deals damage to enemies, but fall to zero when the character takes a hit. Activating a save point, using a special skill, or completing a mission converts Kudos into bonus points. Maintaining at least 1,000 Kudos changes the background music and prompts Lumen, also known as the Muse, to sing; in Copen’s story, Lola sings instead. If Gunvolt’s or Copen’s HP reaches zero, the Muse’s power can revive the character and grant additional power-ups.
