This turn-based role-playing game is set in a fantasy world where the Empire wages a campaign against the Atramians, whom it considers infected with black energi and a threat to the world. The story explores belief, sacrifice, revenge, and hope as events reveal the true nature of evil.
Combat uses turn-based battles in which boosts increase the number and strength of hits. Special skills consume boost slots and can shift the course of a fight. Job orbs for fighter, healer, knight, and mage let the party learn abilities and handle different kinds of energi. The game also features subquests and a battle arena.
