Year Walk is a first-person adventure set in 19th-century Sweden and based on an old ritual used to glimpse the future. The protagonist ventures into a dark forest inhabited by creatures from Swedish folklore, seeking to learn what lies ahead and whether a loved one will return their affection.
Players explore the surroundings, listen for clues, and solve cryptic puzzles as they piece together the events of a cold New Year's Eve. The story blurs the boundaries between reality and the supernatural, as well as between two and three dimensions. An in-game encyclopedia provides information about the mythical creatures encountered along the way.
