This crime action game with role-playing elements follows Kazuma Kiryu, a former rising star in the yakuza who is trying to rebuild his life after serving ten years in prison for murder. He is drawn into an underworld plot involving a mysterious girl named Haruka and 100 million dollars that have gone missing. Yakuza combines a story-driven investigation with street fights and adventure.
Kiryu takes on groups of enemies with attack combinations, uses weapons found in the environment, and defends the yakuza’s territory and reputation. In combat, he can grab opponents and smash them against walls and tables; filling the Heat Gauge unlocks finishing blows. Fighting also lets players improve Kiryu’s strength, stamina, and skills by adjusting his status gauge.
