Virtua Quest is an action RPG with fighting elements, following a boy named Sei as he explores stages and gathers data on the martial arts of Virtua Fighter characters. These data clusters, called Virtua Souls, let him perform complex moves. As the story unfolds, Sei discovers that only he can unlock their potential, drawing the attention of the criminal syndicate Judgment 6.
