An isometric scrolling shooter and the third entry in the Strike series, Urban Strike follows combat helicopter pilots on missions to counter a threat to global security. Missions take place across large maps with varied settings, including jungles, deserts and cities; objectives include destroying ground targets and rescuing hostages.
The player can switch between two helicopters armed with a machine gun and missiles. Ammunition and fuel can be replenished during missions, and some assignments require leaving the helicopter or switching to a ground vehicle. Enemies include soldiers and military vehicles positioned throughout enclosed, angled-view maps.
