A space-flight simulation with role-playing elements unfolds in the Far Arm of the Milky Way. After aliens attack the Princess Blue, the protagonist is left aboard the Jolly Roger and can choose what to do next: turn to piracy, hunt bounties, trade between star systems, or become involved in interplanetary politics.
Gameplay alternates between a top-down role-playing view and 3D space combat. The protagonist can visit ships, stations, outposts, and planets, and travel between star systems through the ancient Malir Gates. Career choices and long-term goals extend beyond the initial mission.
