A turn-based strategy game about expanding a space empire and exploring new star systems. The player leads a race through a hostile, ever-changing galaxy, extending its territory beyond its home system.
In Space Empires 3, ships can be designed from a wide range of components, while facilities are built on planets and remote outposts. Battles take place in either tactical or strategic mode, with fighters, troops, and mines supporting starships. Research, intelligence operations, politics, and treaties offer further ways to develop the empire.
