An expansion for Medieval: Total War focused on the struggle for control of the British Isles. Players lead one of eight factions, including the Vikings, Saxons, Scots, Irish, Welsh, and Picts, and command armies fighting for territory across the region. The campaign features new historical heroes and units, such as Viking Berserkers, Saxon Huscarles, and Fyrdmen.
Sieges add flaming arrows and boiling oil, while a new pre-battle screen lets players plan reinforcements and scout enemy formations. The expansion also introduces additional playable factions and a heavy weapon, the Organ Gun.
