Crystal Quest is an arcade action game in which the player pilots a ship through waves of enemies while collecting crystals. Foes emerge from portals at the edges of the screen and can be fought with weapons or a smart bomb that clears every enemy from the screen.
Collecting all the crystals opens the gateway at the bottom of the screen. Each wave also contains pickups such as bonus points, extra smart bombs, and occasional mega-crystals worth a large number of points.
