A simulation of enclosed ecosystems where plants and animals evolve from single-celled organisms into complex species. Players create aquariums and terrariums, adjust environmental conditions, and balance biomes by managing water, temperature, humidity, pH, and oxygen. A DNA editor allows genomes to be modified and genetic engineering to be applied, while natural and artificial selection help produce new varieties of plants and animals.
Creatura includes an open-ended sandbox mode and educational scenarios. Selling plant cuttings provides funds for decorations and consumables, while research unlocks new DNA-editing methods. Rare specimens can be raised for trade, and discovered species can be added to an almanac. Time can be accelerated to observe organisms evolve.
