Blood Waves is a survival shooter in which the player repels waves of zombies with melee and ranged weapons, traps, and barricades. Between waves, earned cash can be spent on weapons, while the player can restore health and ammunition, place defenses, and repair traps that survived the previous assault. Zombie types vary: some attack from a distance, while others avoid certain traps, making tactics and resource management important to survival.
Character skills and upgrades improve the character’s attributes, weapons, and traps. Survival points contribute to a personal rating that factors in how long the player lasts, how many enemies are defeated, and the player’s skills and use of the game’s features. These results are reflected on the leaderboards.
