An isometric role-playing game and sequel to Divine Divinity, Beyond Divinity follows a hero whose soul is bound to that of a Death Knight. To avoid spending eternity linked to this creature of evil, the pair must seek a way to undo the curse across four story acts and a large world filled with non-linear quests.
Character development is classless, with dozens of traits and hundreds of skills, including alchemy and craftsmanship. The player can switch control between the hero and the Death Knight, and pause combat to issue orders to party members. Objects can be investigated, used, and combined to make items such as potions. Randomly generated battlefields offer additional quests, enemies, and loot.
