The player lays tracks, sets train schedules, constructs buildings, and manages finances, including stocks. Company revenue depends on the city’s residents, while the railway affects urban growth, so decisions about routes and construction shape both sides of this relationship.
Planning requires attention to time, weather, terrain, and finances, with reports and metrics available to help assess conditions. A-Train 8 includes ten scenarios with different challenges, such as difficult terrain, underdeveloped infrastructure, and poor management. A map editor is also included.
