A music game about performing rock songs combines guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. Players can choose a single instrument or play as part of a band, while the career mode offers a branching progression through venues. Band modes support up to four players online or offline, and the eight-player Battle of the Bands lets groups compete against each other online.
The Music Studio lets players create tracks from scratch, record and edit them, then share them online for others to download and play. Characters and instruments can be customized, along with the band’s logo and album covers. The soundtrack uses master recordings by rock acts including Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen, Linkin Park, The Eagles, and Sublime.
